Historically, the dove has been a representation of peace, hope, and new beginnings. We are embarking on a new beginning at Northern Boulevard full of promise and hope. The dove is also present in Noah’s Ark where a dove returns with an olive branch, signaling the end of the flood and the beginning of a new era of peace. We hope that you find our new logo appealing and inviting.

Rev. Jess Lovell (She/Her)
Jess is a provisional elder in the Great Plains Conference in the United Methodist Church. Jess moved to Missouri recently and is excited about the opportunity to lead Northern Boulevard United Methodist Church.
Jess graduated Saint Paul School of Theology with her Master of Divinity with a passion for Social Justice. Jess is a distinguished graduate with honors as well as receiving an award for excellence in Social Justice and was nominated by the faculty for outstanding preaching. Jess is also a participant in the Doctor of Ministry degree program at Saint Paul.
Jess works a full-time job in the finance industry by day for many years. She works in the Crossroads district in downtown Kansas City. Jess has previously served at rural churches in Kansas and her last appointment was at the Church of Resurrection Overland Park focusing on pastoral care, grief, and leadership. Recently, Jess has been filling the pulpit at churches in both Kansas and Missouri. Jess is also a Docent at the Smithsonian Exhibit through May at Saint Paul School of Theology.
Jess enjoys time with her loving and supportive family and friends as well as her animals she shares with her family.

Rusti came across Northern Boulevard United Methodist Church through her family that attends there. She quickly felt right at home and was called by God to take on this role. She is a woman of Christ who loves everyone for who they are! She has been married to her husband for 7 years and has a Saint Bernard Mastiff Mix and a Chihuahua!
